Mobile Technologies
In todays day and age, mobile phones play a major role in people's everyday lives. Mobile phones are used to communicate between friends and family, and to keep in touch, which is a major function which is taken for granted now-a-days. Furthermore, phones have increased in what their capabilities are possible of. For example, phones are now capable of connecting to the internet, they have apps available for downloads, and also, people can talk via Facebook, Twitter, etc., on their phones now.
Furthermore in the internet access you are able to access e-mail so if you didn't have texts or any phone minutes left but did have internet usage left you can send and receive e-mails so if there is anything important you are still able to keep in contact with others.
ReplyDeleteAlso, because mobile phones are forever progressing and growing, the convenience of communicating with others can be done anywhere on the go, this could be a disadvantage as it encourages anti social behaviour in some people.
ReplyDeleteI agree with these statement but as more mobile phones allow you to access your work e-mails, it means that people are doing work at home, though good for the business because they can get information quickly but not for the employee. People have started to become stressed because they have no break and down time from their work, causing many people to go off with stress.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what the above people have commented. They have all made valid points regarding mobile technologies that are blurring the distinction between home and work. Adam said about being able to email people via phone, if you're out of minutes and texts; this is an extremely good point, as its very true and accurate and I agree with it completely. Eleanor mentioned being able to talk and communicate on the go, but can cause bad behaviour, due to it being tempting for certain individuals, and its true, people are becoming more devious and daring, and mobile technologies is simply allowing it to bloom and spread into something bigger. In addition to that, Nathan made a valid point regarding working from home via mobile technologies, and I must admit he's correct, as it doesn't allow you to have a break from all of the stressful work which most people have to do at home, and perhaps they may feel swamped and crushed by it all, causing very stressful moments. What my friends have said has helped me to understand mobile technologies.
